School of Business

School of Engineering and Computer Science
We offer a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. School of Physical Sciences
We are a scholarly group of faculty, students, and staff working together to explore how the world functions at the molecular level. Our curriculum is focused on providing student opportunities to work with relevant instrumentation, to learn experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting, and to practice various forms of scientific communication.
Geology is the study of the materials, structures, processes, and history of the Earth. It advances our understanding of the formation of rocks and minerals and how they can be used to reconstruct the history of the Earth's biological, climatic, and tectonic evolution across the enormity of geologic time.
Physics is the most fundamental of all the scientific disciplines. Ranging from quarks to the cosmos, from the infinitesimal to the infinite, and from the applied to the abstract, the study of physics seeks to explain all the complex and wondrous phenomena of the natural world in terms of a few fundamental laws and principles.
Department of Biology
We offer a dynamic learning environment, exciting research, training opportunities, and intensive mentoring of students at all levels. Our faculty are dedicated educators and scholars who engage in primary research to address diverse topics in the biological sciences. Educational and research areas include ecology, evolutionary biology, genetics, molecular and cell biology, and physiology.
Department of Kinesiology
Kinesiology studies human movement from multiple perspectives – biological, behavioral, socio-cultural – to prepare students to lead and participate in a modern, complex society. We prepares students for careers or further study in fitness, health promotion, fitness assessment and exercise prescription, research, and the allied health professions, such as medicine, physical or occupational therapy, athletic training, physician assistant, and chiropractic.

Centers, Institutes, and Programs

Our mission is to develop exciting formal and informal educational materials that inspire students in grades 5-14 to pursue STEM careers, to train teachers nationwide use of these materials in the classroom, and to enhance science literacy for the general public, with a special focus on increasing the numbers of under-represented students in STEM.
MESA is a nationally recognized California academic support program that provides a resilient learning community and strong base to students in the STEM majors. The goal of our program is to increase the number of historically underrepresented students who pursue and persist in STEM related degrees and, ultimately, careers.
The WBI serves as an intellectual and industry center for faculty, students, and the business community. Founded in 1996 as a partnership between the wine industry and the School of Business at Sonoma State University, the WBI provides cutting-edge research that informs industry best practices and program curriculum.
